Cushion Buying Guide

About our cushions

Our 6-7” seat cushions are available in three types of foam

  1. Our Standard Indoor seat cushion is a high density foam cushion similar to the furniture you have in your home. It is a long lasting cushion but should not be exposed to the elements. This cushion should be used indoors or large porches that do not get much moisture.
  2. Our Standard Soft Outdoor seat cushion is composed of 3 layers of densified fiber with a dacron wrap. This cushion is fine for areas that do not get heavily used or you prefer a soft, cushy cushion. It will dry quickly if it gets wet. This cushion feels great initially, but can flatten out over time. We recommend this cushion for furniture that is seldom used or for smaller stature individuals.
  3. Our Premium Firm Outdoor seat cushion has a flow through high density foam core with a layer of densified fiber on the top and bottom and a dacron wrap. This cushion is ideal for heavily used areas or if you prefer a firmer cushion. This cushion will seem too firm when first sat on but it does soften with time. This cushion will also dry quickly if it gets wet. We recommend this cushion for furniture that is used often and for larger stature people. This cushion will hold its shape longer than a standard cushion

All cushions 5” and thinner are only available as a standard Dacron wrapped polyethylene foam or densified fiber. Custom cushions are made from foam and cannot be used outdoors. All tufted cushions have matching fabric covered buttons.

Back Cushions

Our back cushions are the same for indoors and outdoors. Some styles (not all) are available with or without buttons.

Fabric Information

Our cushions are available in either spun polyester or solution dyed acrylic.

Spun Poly Fabrics:

The beauty of a spun poly fabric is the rich colors and patterns that are available. Spun polyester fabrics are pigment printed; therefore the color is on the surface of the fabric. They are rated at between 500 -1000 UV hours, hence they are more fade resistant than cottons or blends. We recommend spun poly fabrics in areas that don’t get a lot of heavy use and are not exposed to a high level of sunlight To clean spun polyester fabrics, use warm water and mild detergent, rub gently, rinse with water and air dry. Do not use chlorine bleach, harsh detergents, or abrasives on printed fabrics. For stubborn stains dry cleaning in recommended. Never wash your cushions in a washing machine.

Solution Dyed Acrylic Fabrics:

Our solution dyed acrylic fabrics are the most durable fabrics on the market today for outdoor use. We only use genuine Sunbrella fabrics for our acrylics. Sunbrella fabrics are solution dyed; therefore the color is all the way through the fabric, not just printed on top. They are rated at over 2000 UV hours, the top standard in the industry. Sunbrella fabrics can be used anywhere even outside in direct sunlight. We highly recommend Sunbrella for heavy duty use. The beauty of Sunbrella fabrics is how easy they are to clean. Most stains can be cleaned with soap and water; stubborn stains can be cleaned with bleach. For complete cleaning instructions, visit www.sunbrella.com. Relax with the piece of mind that comes with Sunbrella fabrics.
